This gothic church is located between Szewska and Laciarska Streets close to Wroclaw’s Market Square. Formerly, it was one of the city’s two parish churches (the second was St. Elizabeth Church). Now it is a cathedral of the Polish-Catholic Church. Repeatedly destroyed and rebuilt, the church building dates back to Middle Ages (11c.). During the Second World War it was heavily damaged and only the Olbin Portal escaped unharmed. Renovation work is still in progress. Plans for the near future include the reconstruction of the church Renaissance domes. Now St. Maria Magdalena Cathedral belongs to a Polish-Catholic parish. More about the church here.
