MOMBUS/ SPASO (Russia/ Poland)

Polish/ Russian jam session.

Mombus

The same musical material – the sounds produced by the artists from the main section of Brave Festival – will be the starting point for Mombus, who, on the same evening as Spaso, will present his own vision of musical mosaic. This will provide a unique opportunity to compare variations on the same theme by artists coming from two totally different parts of the world. We will see what artists of the same generation think about traditional music, how they weave it into their personal dialog with the world, and how they decode the artistic codes and traditions.

Mombus (real name Serge Bakanev) lives and works on a beach in Murmansk, northwest Russia. He is a scientist working at a polar research station. In his leisure time he makes music, videos and organizes festivals. From time to time he invites friends to recording sessions where they make crazy music blending electronica, folk, lounge and synth-pop.

Spaso
One of the most gifted young Polish music producers, a DJ and a studio engineer. He is a co-founder of the band Kanal Audytywny and a member of a group of filmmakers called Moustache Filmnacja.

Spaso wrote music commissioned by Wroclaw for Expo 2005 in Japan. He works for the label Rockers Publishing and the music studio Laboratorium. He is also part of the DJ collective 2MUCH and is involved in the Eclectic Session project. At present, together with three other artists, he is working on DOM, a unique musical and visual project.

At Brave Festival, Spaso will present a program created specially for the festival. It will be a musical mosaic of sounds produced by the artists from the main section of Brave Festival and his own pieces.
