Dolina Spiti – Kwiaty w krainie bogów (The Valley of Spiti—Flowers in the Land of Gods)
The presented pictures show an isolated Spiti community. The Spiti region is located in a Himalayan Valley near the border with Tibet.
The photographers sought to document the cultures that disappear in the light of change linked with the economic development of the world. These transformations result in the rapid loss of individual character and lifestyle, as well as the community’s unique traditions.
The exhibition marks the beginning of Eidos Filmmakers’ Association, which unites artists interested in documenting cultures on the verge of extinction, and seek to share them with, as wide as possible, audience.
During the Opening, directed by Dominik Koscielak, Płomienie Mahasiddhy (The flames of Mahasiddha) film will be shown. The film presents the life of Spiti shamans. Discussion with the filmmakers and Dr. Jaroslaw Kotas (Uwr) will follow.
