The day is dawning... Every morning the messenger bird pecks a tiny hole in the edge of the vault of heaven, and from the hole dawn seeps through. The bird makes the hole larger, so that the sun can come out from its hiding and light the earth. This is the beginning of a beautiful, epic story of Chukchis, the people whose livelihood is provided by the sea.
