Workshops with the Gogo Milungu Group
Two days dance workshop sessions (Monday 06.07.09, Tuesday 07.07.09,11.00 am) The dance that will be taught by Godfrey Mngereza is originally from the southern highlands of Tanzania, particular to the Awayao ethnic group. It is a celebration dance that combines storytelling, miming and singing.

Two days music instruments workshop sessions (Wednesday 08.07.09, Thursday 09.07.09, 11.00 am). There will be drumming workshops conducted by Godfrey Mngereza and the other members of the ensemble. Participants are asked to bring available drums to learn a variety of Tanzanian drum traditions. Ensemble members will also be available to teach the ilimba (thumb-piano) traditions and the various string instruments they play. The Group will bring some instruments along for a small number of participants to start learning how to play these instruments.
