Preparations for the 2009 Brave Festival are well underway!
We are working hard towards the fifth Brave Festival which will take place between July 3rd and 11th in Wrocław titled “Prayers of the World”. This year we will present authentic songs, rituals and ceremonies connected with prayers and spiritual observances. Each of these fragments is part of a living tradition – connected to one of the world's many religions and spiritualities. We will be hosting a Theyyam dance group from Kerala with their spectacular ritual dance in honour of the Indian gods. Korea's most famous shaman – Kim Kumhwa, will perform the baeyeonsin-gut ritual which guarentees luck and good fortune to all participants – this ritual is performed only once a year – luckily this day coincides with the Brave Festival! We will also be welcoming to Wroclaw a group of musicians and dancers of the Wagogo tribe of Tanzania who will be performing song and dance rituals to appease the Milungu – ancestral spirits.
