BRAVE: forbidden CINEMAIn 2007, while working on the film Animals, Joerg Kalt – director and screenwriter –committed suicide. It took a decade to finish the project. It was done by Greg Zgliński, a Polish filmmaker who has also worked successfully in other European countries. The author of Courage surprised everyone with his Lynchian thriller about a couple who go to a country house to work in peace and quiet (Nick is to learn about the local cuisine and draw inspiration from new recipes, and Anna is to write a book) and rekindle their fading love. By ill fortune, an accident happens on the way... Animals is a stylish film, in which Zgliński plays with the audience by blurring the border between reality and dream, but also by mixing serious tones with a pastiche. A nightmare, to which the artist invites us, remains intriguing and mysterious to the very end, thanks also to the work of cinematographer Piotr Jaxa.
Movie in German, French with Polsih subtitles.
