Marcin Popkiewicz | World at the Crossroads
Where:Klub PROZA, Przejście Garncarskie 2
When the popular science bestseller World at the Crossroads was launched six year ago, readers wondered to what extent the predictions in the book would become reality sometime in the future. Saturated with a great deal of data, indicators, and extensive research from foreign sources, Marcin Popkiewicz’s book – about among other things the insatiable appetite for economic growth, unlimited consumption and wasteful exploitation of natural resources –even then left the reader with a sense of discomfort. Its continuation, published a few years later, about the world and Polish power sectors, covered equally topical problems of civilization. A few years since both books were published, should the above-mentioned discomfort intensify?
Marcin Popkiewicz is a nuclear physicist. He writes about himself: “megatrends analyst, expert and journalist focusing on connections in the areas of economy-energy-resources-environment”.
